"N06.01 - ENERGIAS RENOVÁVEIS - CÉLULAS A COMBUSTÍVEL Energias renováveis" Focus is given to the study and development of Nafion-based composite membranes with hygroscopic oxides for applicationin proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) fed with H2 or ethanol at high temperatures. Electrocatalysts toward the oxygen reduction reaction, as well as, the hydrogen oxidation reaction in the presence of carbon monoxide are also investigated.Membranes and electrocatalysts are tested in PEMFCprototypes operating at high temperature. The research is focused on the development, and physical and electrochemical characterization of PEMFC materials at high temperature and/or reduced relativehumidity conditions.
